Yamcha Cosplay (ヤ ム チ ャ Yamucha), nicknamed “the hyena of the desert”, is one of the protagonists of the first and second part of the series of manga and anime Dragon Ball, written and designed by famous manga artist Akira Toriyama. Its name comes from the Chinese yǐnchá, Yamucha (飲茶?) In Japanese, a term used in Cantonese cuisine, which literally means “drink tea.”

The Yamcha design is based on Mr. Ho, another character created by Toriyama appeared in the homonymous manga. He is a tall, attractive, physically enhanced and slender, with, during his first appearance, long hair loose left blacks and a green and orange divided on which is engraved the kanji 樂, pronounced “raku”, which literally means in Italian ” easy”. In the course of the series will change clothes several times, moving from divided already described prior to that of the tortoise school with the kanji 亀, pronounced “kame”, which literally means in Italian “turtle”. Her hairstyles, change many times throughout the series, have been an inspiration to those of Son Gohan, Goku’s eldest son. Another physical characteristic of Yamcha is the large number of scars on his face that the character possesses. These scars appear, for the first time, the return of Yamcha from training in which the character was subjected to 23º Tenkaichi tournament.

Presented to us at the beginning as an arrogant and unscrupulous man whose sole purpose is to plunder the visitors of the desert where he lives with his faithful Pual, Yamcha then becomes a good and kind person, albeit often cowardly and childish. Yamcha is initially terrified of any girl and wants to ask for this to dragoShenron to take away his fear of women to get married. After her engagement to Bulma, however, that aspect of the character fades gradually over the course of the series and will arrive to tip over, so much so that Trunksin opportunity will define it as a real ladies’ man, why leave him and Bulma you will with Vegeta.

In the anime, also Yamcha is a popular baseball player of Taitans team. In this sport, of course, soon it becomes a star thanks to his super-human abilities; However the games bore him and, several times, manifested a desire to return to fight, sparking fights on the field of play when he gets the chance. This narrative element, on both the filler of the animated series Dragon Ball Z, seems to have been suggested directly by Toriyama.

The goal of Yamcha, at least initially, is to improve more and more and to reach Goku friend, why will undergo the hard training of Master Roshi, of God and Kaioh King. Subsequently, however, Yamcha understands his inferiority and decides from the Cell saga then no longer be directly involved in the fighting nor the subsequent tournaments Tenkaichi saying ‘do not want to make a fool “, having understood the difference between those who they have saiyan blood and those who are mere humans.
